We would like to inform you that the Octenol Attractant has been specifically designed and tested to attract mosquitoes, not midges. Unfortunately, we have not conducted testing on midges, and as such, we cannot confirm its effectiveness for them.

The Mosquito Magnet® can run at its best for many years. When running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week the propane tank and attractant last a full 21 days.

Yes, Mosquito Magnet® Octenol Attractant has a shelf life. Unopened cartridges typically remain effective for about 3 years when stored in a cool, dry place. Once opened and installed in the trap, each cartridge is effective for up to 21 days, after which it should be replaced to maintain optimal mosquito attraction.

If you're noticing a reduced catch rate, it's also a good idea to ensure the attractant is fresh, the propane supply is adequate, and the trap has been cleaned according to the owner's manual, as these factors can also affect performance.
