I have used these, first the independence, then the executive, for 20 years. I have probably owned 10. They work to reduce mosquito population, when they work. But I will never buy another. Their design, reliability, and durability is TERRIBLE!. I have never had a single one last more than 2 years, many less. The straw that broke my back was the last one, purchased directly from MM, for ~$1000. It never worked from the day it arrived. MM wouldn't just replace it. I had to ship it to the warranty center in WISCONSIN. I live in NH!!. It took almost a month. I have converted to Skeeter vac. They don't work as well, but they work!. Avoid this terible product!!

I would not recommend this product. I purchased a brand-new Mosquito Magnet Executive and fully charged the battery before use. The unit runs for less than 24 hours before the battery is completely discharged. Assuming I had received a defective battery, I purchased a second new battery and experienced the exact same result. The unit did not come with a power cord or AC adapter, so battery operation appears to be the intended method of use. However, the battery life is nowhere near what is advertised. Claims that a charged battery can last an entire mosquito season are completely unrealistic based on my experience. For a product costing around $1,000, I expected much better performance and reliability. Having to recharge or replace batteries every day makes the product impractical to use. If I could give this product zero stars, I would. Save your money and look elsewhere. Pros: Easy to set up. Cons: Extremely poor battery life, expensive, and disappointing overall. Would I recommend this product? No.

We're sorry to hear about your experience with the Executive Mosquito Trap. The battery should not require daily charging under normal operation. The battery is primarily used to start the unit, and once the trap is running, it charges the battery rather than draining it. In fact, once running, the trap can continue to operate even if the battery is temporarily removed. If your unit is shutting down within 24 hours due to battery depletion, this may indicate that the trap is not running continuously or that there is an issue with the charging system. One factor to consider is the built-in cold temperature indicator. The trap will automatically shut down when the engine temperature drops below 50°F and will restart once temperatures rise above 55°F. If temperatures are fluctuating—such as during overnight cooling or passing weather changes—the unit may cycle off and rely on the battery to restart, which can lead to faster battery drain.

This is a piece of $1000 junk. It worked fine the first year but is finicky about propane tanks. Second year ran one tank after multiple clearing of propane line with the valve. Second tank wont start at all.. Ran through all the troubleshooting to no avail. Better getting a bunch of neighborhood kids with fly swatters. Save your money and pass.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We're sorry to hear your Mosquito Magnet® Executive did not perform as expected. If the unit is not starting after a propane tank change, we recommend confirming the propane tank is fully open, checking that the regulator is securely connected, inspecting the fuel line for kinks or obstructions, and ensuring the trap has completed its startup cycle. It is also important to verify that the battery is fully charged and that the fuel line and orifice are clean. A partial blockage or fuel delivery issue can sometimes cause the symptoms you described. We appreciate your feedback and will share it with our team as we continue to improve our products.

I would have given it zero stars if I could’ve, I bought one of these the end of last year.worked great for two months.went to start it this year cannot get it running called three times customer service. The 800 line. They told me I had to call another company. The other company informed me that they no longer work for mosquito magnet, cause they’re a horrible company. They said you either get a good one or a bad one for the price of just under $900 I would stay away from this product. They have no customer service. They take your money and they don’t help you,Amazon also did nothing.Sad we are out 900.00 dollars.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating it is when a product does not perform as expected after a short period of use. The Mosquito Magnet® Executive Trap is covered by a limited warranty, and many startup issues can often be resolved by checking the propane supply, ensuring the battery is fully charged, cleaning the insect net and intake areas, and confirming that fresh attractant is installed. We would like the opportunity to review your situation and assist further. Please contact us so we can help determine the best resolution available for your trap.
Beware! No self repair options from the company.

When the mosquito magnet executive works it does an amazing job. However after a few years of ownership I have had to replace the battery twice and then the board went bad. They do not sell the parts to repair your own mosquito magnet. I was able to find the part I need on their parts website but unless you are a registered repairman for mosquito magnets they will not sell you the part. The closest repair location for me is several states away. The parts is listed at 471.83 (so an expensive part to begin with before the service center marks it up to the point a new unit would make as much sense as shipping it to be repaired and shipped back. I am deeply disappointed with their after sales service options and would highly reccomend finding an alternative to their products. My dad had the patriot model. Same issue. broke and they wont sell the part to fix. BEWARE!

My first non plug in ...

My first non plug in mosquito magnet was purchased over 2 decades ago and worked great, but I gave it to friend when I moved (big mistake). I do not recall it needing a battery, but then again I’m getting old maybe my memory is bad. Bought plug-in version. 6 years ago. We had some minor problems, but it caught thousands of mosquitoes that didn’t bite me. Still works great. Was there changes to the original version?

I have had my executive now since 2023. It has not worked properly since we got it, I had to return after 45 days for warranty repair and then last year the battery wouldn’t last more than a few days. This year it worked for two gas bottles and now it won’t ignite. I do not recommend it.

I bought 5 executive units last year. I have 10 in total. 4 of the 5 units would not start this season. Luckily they were still under the 1 yr warranty and I had them repaired. They said it was the regulator and hose assembly. I had 3 older executives, 2-3 yrs old, repaired for a cost of over $2,000 dollars. STAY AWAY FROM THESE EXECUTIVE UNITS.

I’m a verified owner of Executive..

I’m a verified owner of Executive. My machine has worked successfully for 11+ yrs. My parents in NE had 3 Patriots covering 3 acres by pool. Zero mosquitos and net full in summer. I invested in Exec due to timer. Chained it to a tree. My husky has allergies to heart meds so I bought to eliminate as best I could the mosquito bite which causes heart worms. He’s 11. No meds, no heart worms. I bought extra batteries (have 2 that still recharge well) to swap them out. Propane tanks from UHaul work best. Rhino tanks not so much. By far a GREAT investment. ???????????????????????? thank you! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Stay away from the Executive! Too many bells and whistles that cause the unit to not last

Owned a Mosquito Magnet Defender for years and loved it. Eventually the plastic pieces broke to the point of being non-reparable. Upgraded to the Executive. Worked the first season but was not reliable. Second season the battery would drain overnight and had to replace every morning. after a month of this I created a wired plug to run it from. Worked great for the rest of that season. This season it will light but go off immediately. For the amount of money one of these costs, it should run for more than one season. Of course, it ran fine for the one-year warranty and to mail it in for repairs isn't worth it. I used to talk up these units to everyone but now it's the opposite. Very upset with the lack of quality.
