Recharged my new battery and it ran the machine for about 24 hours and shut off again, Recharged it again and it did the same thing. Third times the charm, I guess, because it has been running properly. Frustrating to the max. I expected Mosquito Magnet to respond to my first query after the battery didn't hold a charge but they didn't. i live in an area that is windy. the placement of the mosquito magnet was importment. I found that if I put it in an area that was exposed to the wind it would shut down as if it were not getting the propane it needed. I placed it in an area that was protected by the wind. it has worked properly since.

Review RateThe battery wasn't the issue
The unit needs better water proofing. We have had some torrential rains here in San Antonio and the unit got waterlogged. After it dried out it worked for awhile and then quit indicating a battery issue. I bought a new battery but it wouldn't hold a charge once installed in the machine but the old battery would. Now neither the old battery or the new one will last more than five minutes which indicates to me something has shorted out.Response From Mosquito Magnet®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative

How long did you allow the battery to charge before re-inserting it into the unit? We recommend charging for a full 24 hours when the battery is first purchased and at the beginning of each season.

Battery works as described. This is my 4th battery in 10 yrs. After 3-4 yrs they don't hold a charge and need to be replaced.
