Victor® Metal Pedal Mouse Trap - 24 Traps
The original wooden snap trap—the Victor® Metal Pedal Mouse Trap—is also the world’s #1 selling mouse trap. Its superior quality and effectiveness are the reason we’ve sold more than 1 billion snap traps around the world. And why professional pest control companies have made them their trap of choice. Trusted to control mice for more than 115 years, this trap delivers clean, instant rodent control.
Victor® Metal Pedal Mouse Traps are made in the USA from environmentally responsible, Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) certified wood. The FSC promotes the responsible management of forests worldwide for future generations. So this environmentally friendly purchase is one you can depend on.
When a rodent triggers the metal pedal, the trap immediately springs closed to kill the mouse on contact. Then, simply lift the rugged metal kill bar to dispose of the body. The trap can be disposed of, or reused many times over at your discretion.
Victor® Metal Pedal Mouse Traps are perfect for use anywhere in the home, indoors or out, and are ideal for placing along runways where mice like to travel, or anywhere else you see signs of mouse activity. It is safe to use around children and pets because it contains no poisons or chemicals, but we recommend that you use caution. For maximum effectiveness, place traps along walls at 2 to 3 foot intervals.
The Metal Pedal is easy to set and use. Here’s how:
- Remove the arm bar from the staple.
- Move the arm bar to the back of the trap so it hangs over the back of the trap.
- Bait the trap with peanut butter, chocolate, hazelnut spread or anything high in protein. Place the bait on the metal bait pedal using a Q-Tip, toothpick or another tool to mask your human scent.
- Pull the kill bar back and hold it in place with your thumb.
- Swing the arm bar over the kill bar and latch the bent end of the arm bar into the notch on the metal pedal as shown. Slowly release pressure from the kill bar until the arm bar has fully engaged and holds the kill bar securely.
- Place the trap wherever you’ve seen signs of rodent activity or along the wall where rodents like to travel. The baited end of the trap should be placed flush against the wall.
- After the mouse is caught, properly dispose of the dead rodent. The trap can either be discarded or reused.

Review RateHow to build a cheap better mouse trap
At first I had many problems with mice eating the peanut butter without setting off the trap... Then I began putting the bait under the bait holder instead of in it...Works every time!!! Victor, if you flip the bait holder down instead of up I guarantee it will work every time...
Review RateMice cannot win.
Score was me, 4, mice 0. A Victor-y.
Review RateBest Victor mouse trap is the classic Metal Pedal mouse trap. Best rat trap is the Metal Pedal Rat trap.
By far the best mouse trap out there is the original victor snap trap with the metal bait pedal. I see some reviews not positive for this trap, and I don't understand how they can say that. I do not use peanut butter, it tends to get licked off. I do use a sticky chocolate bar like Oh Henry, or Snickers. The chocolate bar sticks firm on the bait pedal because of the caramel, and peanuts do help. Try changing the bait and you will be happy with the classic snap trap. Also if you are using a Victor Rat trap with the metal bait pedal, slide a small piece of slim jim, or pepperoni stick and it works every time, you never lose the bait, and gets 'em right on the neck for a quick kill.
Review RateNot as good as the victor red bar
No these are not good traps compared to the victor red bar ones. I try to set them as sensitive as possible but still the mice eat the bait and without triggering them. So go for the other ones..Response From Mosquito Magnet®Kathryn : Consumer Relations Representative
Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback! We recommend baiting traps with only the amount of bait that will fit on the end of a toothpick. This way the rodents do not have the opportunity to eat and run. Please feel free to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-VICTOR (1-855-584-2867) with any questions.
Review RateTraps work great
These are the only traps that work on our smart mice. We tried a lot of other brands and models with no good results. Thanks Victor for still making them .
Review RateGreat Trap & Easy to Use
Easy to set, easy to bait, and works every time. Mouse dies quickly and painlessly. They are also easy to unset without setting them off. Great price too so if you want to just throw out the whole trap after catching a mouse, you don't break the bank. Best snap trap available today.
Review RateI didn´t understand how to set te bar on the metal mecanism.
I revew the PDF of how to set the trap and I couldn't understand how to set the bar on the metal pedal mecanism. Do you introduce the bar on the hole in the metal pedal or you try to grab the little nail in it or both. I snap my fingers and I know it will work on a mouse. I learn more on the review that on the PDF panflet.
Review RateBest Traps Ever - A Customer For Life!
These traps are the best and the only ones I buy. They catch mice like crazy! Their customer service is impeccable as well. I had a problem with an order that I received a few months ago. Most of the traps were broken in transit and hadn't realized until last week when I took them out of the box to use. I called a rep at Victor, explained what happened and they took care of me and send me new ones. This is what customer service is all about and the reason I'm a customer for life. Thank you Victor!
Review RateJust feeding the mice
Set up four traps with dabs of peanut butter. Mice have licked them clean without setting off traps. I pick up the traps and they go off. These mice are outsmarting me. They're probably staring at me and laughing: "Ya right!". Victor should hire them for their Research and Developing department or maybe CEO.Response From Mosquito Magnet®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative
When baiting the trap, it is important to remember a little goes a long way. We recommend using a toothpick amount of peanut butter. Also, the traps should be placed against the wall where rodents primarily travel. The end of the trap where the
metal pedal is baited should be placed flush against the wall.

Review RateJunky new design
Apparently these have been modified into an inferior design. I had a few (I guess) older model mouse traps that were working fine. I bought four more to spread around, not thinking the design would be any different. But these new ones are impossible to keep set, if you can latch the bar at all. Had one snap while I was baiting another one, with nothing triggering it. The second one snapped as I was trying to place it by sliding it ever-so-gently across the smooth floor. Both happened after several attempts at latching, including grabbing some pliers so the bar might stay put. They are going into the trash. I can catch air easily enough without a trap, but I guess it was fun while it lasted. I couldn't care less about a refund. I'll consider the price a lesson learned, and cherish my remaining old ones until wild mice are extinct. Anyone know where I can find some more old ones?Response From Mosquito Magnet®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative
