Independent Testing on Mosquito Magnet® Traps
Independent tests have proven that the Mosquito Magnet® is more effective and captures more types of biting insects and mosquitoes than any other mosquito traps on the market. Following is a summary of the studies, with the full tests available for download.
Hawaii, Aug/Sep 2004
Five commercially available mosquito traps were compared. The Mosquito Magnet® with Lurex3™ as the secondary attractant, performed significantly better than all other traps tested for collecting total Culicidae. All Mosquito Magnet® products utilizing Lurex3™ collected significantly more Aedes albopictus than the competitor trap using octenol.
21 Mosquito Magnet® traps were placed along the nature trail in an effort to reduce mosquito populations. The traps had a very significant impact on the mosquito populations on Atsena Otie.
Eight commercially available mosquito traps were compared. The Mosquito Magnet® Liberty and Mosquito Magnet® Liberty Plus, both utilizing Octenol as the additional attractant, performed significantly better than all other traps tested.
Seven commercially available mosquito traps were compared. The Mosquito Magnet® Liberty and Liberty Plus performed significantly better than all other traps tested.
The Mosquito Magnet® Liberty was tested against the Coleman "Mosquito Deleto" and the Applica "Sonic Web." The Mosquito Magnet® captured nearly 200 times more mosquitoes than competing products.
U.S. Army Medical Command, the Centers for Disease Control, Republic of Korea
Field tests of seven different mosquito traps were conducted where recent outbreaks of malaria had occurred. The Mosquito Magnet® captured 3 times more mosquitoes than the next most effective trap, and over 13 times as many as other traps using CO2 and Octenol attractants.
U.S. Coast Guard, Bahamas

This warranty, (1) year from the purchase of the unit, is extended only to the original purchaser/user of products.
Woodstream Corp. warrants its products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the warranty period by the original purchaser/user.

If Woodstream Corp. determines there may be a defect, Woodstream Corp. will issue a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) number. The defective unit or parts must be returned for warranty inspection using the RGA number, when applicable, as identification within (30) days of return authorization date. DO NOT return products to our factory without our prior consent, as they, as well as C.O.D. shipments will be refused. Woodstream Corp., at its option, shall replace the unit, replace the defective part(s) and return such unit to you. Woodstream Corp.'s sole obligation and your exclusive remedy under this warranty shall be limited to such replacement.
Limitations and Exclusions:
The warranty shall not apply to problems arising from normal wear, or failure to adhere to the enclosed instructions. In addition, the foregoing warranty shall not apply to serial numbered products if the serial number has been removed or defaced; products subject to negligence, accident, improper operation, maintenance or storage; products damaged by circumstances beyond Woodstream Corp.'s control; or products modified (including, but not limited to modifications through the use of unauthorized parts or attachments) or repaired by anyone other than Woodstream Corp. or its designee.
The foregoing warranty is exclusive and in lieu of all other warranties, express or implied, including without limitation the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. It shall not extend beyond the duration of the express warranty provided herein, and the remedy for violations of any warranty shall be limited to repair or replacement of the defective product pursuant to the terms contained herein. Woodstream Corp. shall not be liable for any consequential or incidental damages whatsoever.

Trap Placement
Proper placement of your Mosquito Magnet® is crucial to its success. If placed correctly, mosquitoes will be drawn to the Mosquito Magnet® trap instead of you.
Using an attractant is critical to the performance of your Mosquito Magnet®. The choice of which attractant to use depends upon where you reside in the U.S.
Your product is great. We have had one for three years. It is still going strong keeping mosquitos out of yard and our neighbor's.

I just wanted to tell you that the Mosquito Magnet® has saved our summers! We have lived in our house for 5 years and have a huge backyard that borders beautiful, thick woods with a large pond in the middle. We love the wildlife that is all around us, but the mosquitoes were so bad that by May, we were bombarded literally all day long. We tried citronella torches, candles, foggers, lawn sprays and bug sprays...nothing seemed to work effectively.
This year we built a beautiful cedar play set for our boys, ages 2 and 6 yrs. But, without being slathered in DEET all the time, they could not even go out and play on it. At our wit’s end, we bought a Mosquito Magnet® Defender. I kid you not, after running it for a week, the trap was nearly full, and we are seeing DRAMATIC results! Last night we were able to go out at dusk, in 80 degree heat and humidity and see only 2 mosquitoes! UNBELIEVABLE!!
We are now able to eat outside, play outside and just enjoy our yard. The boys love it, and no DEET needed!
