SECTION 3 - HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
         
 

EMERGENCY OVERVIEW:

White plastic block containing 1-octen-3-ol, which may be harmful if swallowed and can cause eye, skin and respiratory irritation. The 1-octen-3-ol (1.66 grams) is impregnated onto microporous polyethylene block, which is encased in a polyester copolymer.

POTENTIAL HEALTH EFFECTS
  • INHALATION: Inhalation of 1-octen-3-ol vapors can cause nasal and respiratory irritation.
  • EYE CONTACT: 1-octen-3-ol can cause irritation.
  • SKIN CONTACT: 1-octen-3-ol can cause irritation.
  • INGESTION: 1-octen-3-ol may be harmful if swallowed and may cause stomach upset.
  • CHRONIC: No known effects based on animal studies.
  • CARCINOGENICITY: The ingredients in this product are not listed by NTP, OSHA, or ACGIH as a carcinogen
 
         
SECTION 4 - EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID MEASURES

INHALATION:

If inhaled, remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Call a physician or poison control center.  
 

SKIN CONTACT:

Remove contaminated clothing. Wash thoroughly with soap and water immediately. Get medical attention if irritation develops or call poison control center.  
 

EYE CONTACT:

In cases of contact, hold eyelids apart and immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. If present, remove contact lenses after the first 5 minutes, then continue rinsing eyes. Call a physician or poison control center.  
 

INGESTION:

If swallowed, do not induce vomiting unless directed to do so by a physician. Call a physician or poison control center. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
